Every year at Hayfields sky sports tv is there to film the fishomania event where the winner of the fishing match wins £25 000 and gets there self on sky sports news and sky sports for the day. You too could be on sky sports as it is filmed live at hayfields so you could be on sky sports as the sky sports cameras are all ways walling around the fishery.Tickets are normaly £5.00 on the day and you will get to see all the top anglers at hayfields famous fishery and watch it on sky sports too ring hayfields for tickets and opening times on 01302 864555.

I Was fishing on a fishery last year and i was using a paste i made up our bagup boosted dogfish & sardine paste this is a fantastic bait for big carp but works well with tench for some reason. Tench often go for the sweeter types of baits like tutti frutti and maple cream baits as well as worms and corn. I was Talking to a pike angler the other day and he was telling me about a time when he was using oily baits such as sardine as a hook bait for pike fishing in winter. He told me that he caught 3 fish that day and two of them were specimen tench one over 7lb. He said ever since that day other anglers have also caught big fat tench on there pike gear in colder fishing conditions. I would not recomend this as a way to catch tench but sometimes you can not say what fish your are going to catch on the day. 3 weeks later I was fishing a pond in preston and i tried a small piece of sardine mixed with my paste it was ixed 70% sardine 30 % paste it stunk to high heavens. I had a couple of knocks but nothing to shout about but then all I added tried fishing over depth on the bottom and hooked in to a carp about 3-4 lb. Even a few small skimmers but to tip it all of i caught a nice tench around 2lb . this was not a big tench but the proof was in the bait. So next time you hit the waters try mixing sardine in to your baits and groundbaits and you never know you may get a tench or too as well

We are due to open our doors at Hayfields fishery on Saturday the 16th of Febury 2008. We are going to be selling many of our boosted baits for carp and match anglers. You can not use Halibut pellets - Bread -Boilies -and tiger Nuts - also any pop up baits. But you can use Hemp and groundbaits all year round. Hayfields is a fantastic fishery and is fished by thousands of anglers all year round. Even the top anglers in the uk fish this top fishery from tom pickering - Dennis white - to Bob nudd and many more you will not be disapointed. The fishery also has a new landlord in the hayfield pub they are selling a fantastic range of warm meals or you can pop and see us at the bait cabin for a bacon butty or snacks 7 days a week. We sell all the baits you will need from feeder pellets to maggots and carp pastes and flavourings. You will also be looked after by the fishery owners robin and his partner noilie , Noilie is on sight at at the fishery most of the time and will be happy to help you if needed with a smile on her face and a great sence of humour. The fishery is open in the winter time from 8.00.am - 5pm and then in the summer 7am - 10pm.
